Bartin city is located in northern Turkey, in the coast of the Black Sea Region, and in the west of Bartin Province. Since there is no wastewater plant in Bartin City, the discharge of wastewater into Bartin Creek without treatment creates risks for both public and environmental health.
The specific purpose of the project entails the construction of a wastewater treatment plant for Bartin Municipality to support improvements in wastewater treatment as well as improving the institutional structure of the Municipality through training to be conducted to introduce sound management of the water and wastewater system in Bartin Municipality.
Apart from the wastewater treatment plant, the project involves extending of the water distribution network by 79 km and the construction of water transmission lines with length of 26 km.
MENA has undertaken the Architectural and Static Project design of the Treatment Plant.
